The campgrounds in Jasper, Lake Louise and Banff are generously laid out. They come with running water, flush toilets, showers, picnic tables and fire pits. Some have kitchen shelters. Most of the private campgrounds and the provincial parks in British Columbia and on Vancouver Island offer the same amenities. None of these luxuries exist for our canoe trips where we camp in the wilderness on islands in the rivers.\r\n\r\nFood is so important on camping trips, especially after a long hike, or a few hours in a canoe. It is amazing what a variety of delights can be prepared on a camp fire, fresh, healthy, balanced and abundant.
